As for the volume change over the past 24 hours, all five coins experienced an increase. The greatest increase came from Litecoin, growing 49.85%. Ripple announces launch of Xpring to grow and support proven entrepreneurs

Ripple has announced the launch of Xpring, a new initiative that will invest in, incubate, acquire and provide grants to companies and projects run by proven entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs will be required to use the digital asset XRP and the XRP ledger that supports the asset, with the purpose of helping solve customer problems. Among the people Xpring has already offered support to include: entertainment talent manager, Scooter Braun; co-founder and CEO of Omni, Thomas McLeod; and the co-founders of Blockchain Capital, Bart and Brad Stephens. The announcement comes after announcing a slew of similar projects, although Ripple has seen no major gains over recent weeks.

Bitcoin climbs back amid Coindesk NYC conference

Bitcoin (BTC) has reportedly climbed back from a three week slump amid a blockchain frenzy in New York City for the Coindesk conference Consensus this week, according to Bloomberg. Thomas Lee, head of research at Fundstrat Global Advisors reportedly predicted last week that the Coindesk conference could cause Bitcoin to rally. Today, on the second day of the conference, bitcoin is currently valued at US$8,706, according to CoinMarketCap. The day before the conference kicked off on Sunday May 13, bitcoin was valued at US$8,347. This is a 4.3% increase in price over the first two days of the conference. The conference is reportedly expected to draw more than 8,500 attendees, and has generated excitement and anticipation in the city.

EOS remains low despite appointment of Commonwealth bank CFO as its COO

Block.one, the company behind EOS (EOS), has announced that Rob Jesudason, the CFO of one of Australia’s biggest banks, the Commonwealth bank, has been appointed as the firm’s Group President and Chief Operating Officer. Despite the announcement, EOS remains low at US$14.36 at the time of writing. This is a 17.4% drop from last Friday May 11 when the coin was priced at US$17.39.

Winklevoss Brothers add Zcash, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash to Gemini Exchange

Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange founded by the Winklevoss Brothers, has received approval to list Zcash (ZEC) on the exchange and will start trading the currency on May 22, according to Forbes. The New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) confirmed with Forbes that the exchange will also receive approvals for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Litecoin (LTC). In a letter from Cameron Winklevoss, the Gemini president reportedly stated that the approval from NYDFS will make Gemini the first licensed Zcash exchange in the world, and it also makes the NYDFS the first agency to regulate the currency.
